Cardi B now has the biggest song in the country. “Bodak Yellow” is now the Number 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the chart dated Oct. 7. Cardi B is also the second female rapper to ever top the chart by herself; before her, Lauryn Hill hit number one years ago with “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in November 1998. Plus, she’s only the fifth female rapper to ever be in the No. 1 spot after Hill, Lil’ Kim (“Lady Marmalade” in 2001), Shawnna (“Stand Up” in 2003, and Iggy Azalea (“Fancy” in 2014). Cardi, who’s signed to Atlantic Records, recently revealed her debut album was pushed back a bit. With her hit single now topping the chart, her debut LP should be right around the corner.
